Bricktown Master Plan
The Bricktown Entertainment District in Downtown Oklahoma City has evolved into a nationally recognized destination for culture, dining, and entertainment.
Beck Design helped shape the transformation of Bricktown by creating the district’s original master plan in the early 1980s, establishing a vision that would turn an underutilized warehouse area into one of Oklahoma City’s most vibrant destinations.
As part of that effort, Beck Design led the renovation of the district’s first 10 to 12 buildings across six city blocks. The project focused on preserving the historic character of late 19th- and early 20th-century structures while adapting them for modern use. This balance of restoration and functionality laid the foundation for Bricktown’s continued growth as a cultural and commercial hub.
Today, Bricktown stands as a successful example of how thoughtful planning and historic preservation can drive revitalization. Its mix of entertainment venues, restaurants, and retail spaces reflects Oklahoma City’s identity while demonstrating the lasting impact of architecture and planning on economic development and community growth.
