Tulsa Performing Arts Center
Since opening in the early 1970s, the Tulsa Performing Arts Center has been a cornerstone of the city's cultural life, enriching the community through decades of performances and events. As the facility has aged, thoughtful renovations and modernization have become essential to preserve its legacy, enhance the patron and performer experience, and ensure it continues to serve Tulsa as a premier performing arts destination for generations to come.
Beck Design was selected to lead the renovation and expansion of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, enhancing both capacity and the patron experience. The project features a new 1,400-seat theater east of the existing venue and a 64,000-square-foot addition with an expanded lobby, dining areas, offices, and support spaces. Originally designed by renowned architect Minoru Yamasaki, the center’s iconic Brutalist character inspired a contemporary expansion that respects its historic architecture. Designed by Beck Design and a team of specialized consultants, the project integrates advanced audio and visual technologies while honoring the building’s legacy and surrounding context.
