Tulsa Performing Arts Center

Since opening in the early 1970s, the Tulsa Performing Arts Center has been a cornerstone of the city's cultural life, enriching the community through decades of performances and events. As the facility has aged, thoughtful renovations and modernization have become essential to preserve its legacy, enhance the patron and performer experience, and ensure it continues to serve Tulsa as a premier performing arts destination for generations to come.

Beck Design was selected to lead the renovation and expansion of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. The project includes comprehensive modernization of the existing venue, along with significant new additions that expand its capacity and enhance the overall patron experience.

A new 1,400-seat theater will be constructed on the block immediately east of the existing building, while a 64,000-square-foot addition to the west will provide an expanded lobby, enhanced patron amenities, dining areas, administrative offices, and additional support spaces.

Originally designed by renowned architect Minoru Yamasaki, the Performing Arts Center is an iconic example of Brutalist architecture. The new design thoughtfully responds to Yamasaki's vision, drawing from the building's distinctive forms, materiality, and proportions to create a seamless dialogue between the historic landmark and its contemporary expansion.

The Tulsa Performing Arts Center will be designed by Beck Design and its team of specialized consultants. The building design incorporates cutting-edge audio

and visual technologies on display architecturally, while

respecting the existing surroundings and history.
