Wanda L. Bass School of Music
Beck Design was hired by Oklahoma City University to perform a long range master plan, needs assessment, programming, fundraising, and full A&E services for their Bass Music Center for the Arts.
The centerpiece of the master plan is the 101,919-square-foot, $38.4 million Wanda L. Bass School of Music addition, designed as the campus’s front door and a cultural gateway to Oklahoma City’s arts district. Built to the highest acoustical standards, the facility includes a black box theatre, five music labs, six ensemble rehearsal rooms, 11 recording venues, 40 teaching studios, 60 sound-isolated practice rooms, and two composition labs.
Since opening in 2006, the Bass Music Center has welcomed artists, educators, and organizations from around the world, serving as a premier destination for arts education and performance.
