The City of Broken Arrow selected Beck Design to create a performing arts center that serves as both a cultural destination and a community gathering place. The project began with a comprehensive planning process that included a space needs assessment, theater planning, and detailed sightline studies to ensure an exceptional experience for performers and audiences alike.
The resulting 44,000 square-foot Performing Arts Center includes the 1,500-seat Kristin Chenoweth theatre, a state-of-the-art venue for performances while addressing the broader needs of the community. In addition to the main performance hall, the facility includes dedicated music education and administrative spaces, a safe room, and a technology data center, creating a resilient, multi-purpose civic asset designed to support education, culture, and community for years to come.
The theatre and music department areas include a scene shop, dressing rooms, rehearsal spaces, and back-of house support spaces. Since its grand opening in 2009, the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center has been a place not only to bring world class entertainment to the community, but to also act as a launching pad for Broken Arrow Public School students who have set their sights on making a career in the performing arts.
With a professional and exciting atmosphere, the PAC has become the cornerstone of the arts district in downtown Broken Arrow and continues to be the premier venue for major performances from across the nation.
Ultimately, the Chenoweth Theatre serves as the new home for theatre, music, film, and visual arts to the Broken Arrow community, which is strengthened by the highly visible nature of the building’s design.
