OU Basic Sciences Education Building Remodel

Beck Design is serving as the architectural and interior design lead for the remodel within the OU Basic Sciences Education Building at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.

Currently in progress, the project will modernize existing research and teaching laboratory spaces to support contemporary scientific practices, collaborative learning, and long-term adaptability.

Beck Design is leading programming, space planning, and full design development in close coordination with faculty, researchers, and facility managers to ensure the renovation aligns with the University’s academic and research objectives. Planned improvements include flexible lab bench configurations, upgraded utilities, integrated safety systems, and enhanced lighting to improve both ergonomics and workflow efficiency. 

Material selections focus on durability, cleanability, and compliance with laboratory standards, while creating a bright, engaging environment for students and researchers. Upon completion, the renovated labs will provide high-performing, future-ready spaces that foster education, research, and innovation on campus.
