Beck Design served as the executive architect for the adaptive reuse and renovation of the historic Colcord Hotel, a 12-story landmark originally built in 1910 as Oklahoma City’s first skyscraper.

The project transformed the early 20th-century office building into a 108-room boutique hotel while preserving its historic character and architectural detailing.

Beck Design led the programming, building assessments, and design implementation, carefully restoring original features such as marble-clad columns, decorative plaster ceilings, and cast-iron elevator surrounds. Contemporary systems and amenities were seamlessly integrated to meet the demands of modern hospitality without compromising the building’s integrity.

Guided by a philosophy that “great architecture honors its past while embracing the future,” Beck Design approached the renovation with precision and respect for the building’s historical fabric. The resulting hotel delivers refined elegance and a distinctive sense of place, celebrating the Colcord’s legacy while positioning it as a vital part of downtown Oklahoma City’s ongoing revitalization.
