The renovation of Bixby City Hall and the adjacent Dawes Building, completed in late 2021, reimagines approximately 10,000 square feet of vital civic infrastructure at the heart of Bixby’s growing community.
This project included a major interior reorganization, improved accessibility, and exterior enhancements designed to align with downtown Bixby’s long-term development goals.
A new public-facing lobby addition at City Hall now consolidates key services including the Water Department, Police Department reception, and general administration, into a central, transparent, and welcoming entry point.
Meanwhile, the Dawes Building, home to Public Works, Planning, and Inspection departments, received its own updated entry and lobby, along with ADA-compliant restrooms and more clearly defined departmental boundaries to support efficient workflow. A custom aluminum and steel canopy structure adds a civic scale and presence while providing sheltered outdoor waiting areas for visitors.

The updated facilities now support Bixby’s vision of a responsive and accessible local government. The project also introduced updated finishes, improved lighting, and enhanced security features throughout both buildings.
In addition to Bixby City Hall, the City of Bixby Dawes Public Works Building (right) received internal and external renovation during the duration of this project. With a masterplan-driven layout, the renovation not only modernizes the functionality of Bixby’s municipal offices but reinforces their role as transparent, community-oriented institutions within the city’s rapidly developing civic landscape.
