First Americans Museum
Beck Design provided furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) design services for key interior spaces throughout the First Americans Museum in Oklahoma City, with a particular focus on the museum’s gift shop (FAMstore) and conference rooms.
Working closely with the museum’s leadership and retail team, Beck Design curated furnishings and display systems that reflect the museum’s cultural narrative while supporting functionality and retail strategy.
In the FAMstore, selections were guided by a desire to create a clean, contemporary backdrop that would showcase Native-made art, jewelry, literature, and gifts without overshadowing them. Custom fixtures, adaptable shelving, and durable material finishes were chosen to balance aesthetic clarity with merchandising flexibility. Throughout the museum, Beck Design’s FF&E choices emphasized cultural sensitivity, long-term durability, and alignment with the museum’s architectural vision.
The result is a thoughtfully furnished environment that complements the broader design language while enhancing visitor comfort, retail visibility, and institutional identity. Our work in the FAMstore helped create a retail experience that is both welcoming and uniquely reflective of the museum’s mission.
