Beck Design served as the executive architect in association with Thomas Hacker Architects for the Ron Norick Downtown Library in Oklahoma City.
Completed in 2004, the 114,000-square-foot facility anchors a prominent corner in the City’s downtown core and serves as the flagship branch for the Metropolitan Library System.
Beck Design led architectural coordination, construction documentation, and execution, ensuring that the building met local code requirements, civic goals, and design intent while maintaining architectural excellence throughout the process.
The library features expansive reading rooms, technology hubs, flexible meeting spaces, and children’s and teen areas, each designed to foster accessibility, learning, and community engagement.
The use of natural light, warm materials, and open spatial organization reflects a contemporary civic identity and a welcoming atmosphere for all ages. Beck Design’s collaboration on the Ron Norick Library helped deliver a cornerstone public institution that continues to serve as a cultural and educational hub in the heart of Oklahoma City.
