Tulsa Opera
The new Tulsa Opera Theatre is a bold architectural addition designed to reflect the energy, artistry, and cultural significance of Tulsa Opera.
Located at the southwest corner of Boulder Avenue and 16th Street, the sculptural addition adjoins the existing facility and creates a new 200-seat proscenium theatre, expanding the Opera’s capacity for performances and community engagement.
The Theatre’s angular form establishes a strong street presence, while a transparent lobby wraps the east and north sides of the building, creating welcoming entries and inviting views between the interior and downtown. Rising toward the northeast, the lobby roofline reinforces the building’s dynamic expression while allowing the activity within to become part of the public experience.
Inside, sophisticated materials, expressive forms, and subtle lighting create an atmosphere of movement and presence. A signature lobby installation displays Tulsa Opera’s extensive record library on adjustable stainless-steel rods. Together, the architecture and interiors create a distinctive new home worthy of Tulsa Opera’s legacy while positioning the organization for a vibrant future.
