The Jeanie Webb Student Union at Rose State College is a dynamic, 48,000 square foot, two-story facility that redefines the student experience and anchors the College’s eastern gateway.
Completed in 2020 to coincide with Rose State’s 50th anniversary, the project consolidates critical student services such as enrollment, financial aid, testing, and advisement, into a centralized, accessible hub.
Organized around a dramatic 30- to 48-foot high atrium space with generous daylighting, the design fosters connection and transparency, creating an inviting atmosphere for both students and visitors. In addition to the “one-stop” student services model, the building includes a full-service food court, a student bookstore, study lounges, and the flexible FNB Community Bank Banquet Hall, which seats up to 400 guests and can be subdivided for conferences, events, and civic gatherings.
The second floor houses key administrative offices and student life programming, strategically aligned to improve access, collaboration, and efficiency across campus functions. The design team emphasized both functionality and identity, using warm, contemporary materials and bold forms to reflect Rose State’s evolution into a modern, student-centered institution.
More than just a building, the Student Union is a physical expression of the College’s mission to serve, engage, and empower students, while also establishing a new architectural standard for Oklahoma’s urban community colleges.
