“It’s an opportunity to have a place where students who work and live in the downtown Oklahoma City area to take classes.”
The University of Central Oklahoma, in partnership with the City of Oklahoma City, transformed nearly 18,000 square feet of tenant space in the Santa Fe Parking Garage into a vibrant new home for UCO programs. The project involved the full demolition of existing interiors, making way for a purpose-built design that supports both academic and community-focused initiatives. The result is a modern downtown presence that positions UCO as a strong partner in advancing education and innovation in the heart of Oklahoma City.

The renovation was thoughtfully organized into three distinct areas, each serving a unique role in the University’s mission. A new home for KUCO Radio provides enhanced broadcast studios with professional-grade soundproofing and recording capabilities. Dedicated laboratory spaces expand hands-on learning opportunities, while the Downtown Campus for Customized Education delivers flexible resources for workforce development and continuing education. Together, these spaces demonstrate UCO’s commitment to adaptability and forward-looking academic programming.
Features of the build-out highlight functionality and future-ready design. State-of-the-art technology infrastructure supports seamless connectivity and learning, while large-capacity conference rooms, classrooms, and laboratories accommodate a variety of educational and professional uses. Incubator offices encourage entrepreneurial growth and collaboration, while KUCO’s broadcast facilities strengthen cultural engagement across the state. This renovation not only elevates the University’s presence downtown, but also reflects a dynamic partnership between higher education and civic investment in Oklahoma City’s future.
